Semi Final
Royal Adelaide 1.5 lost to Mount Osmond 3.5
Monday 26th June at West Lakes Golf Club
Report courtesy of Jill McEwin
This is my last report for the 2023 pennant season. Today we played under blue skies at West Lakes Golf Club. The course was running well and the greens were firm and true.
The team were all out of the gate nicely and at the turn Anne Arnfield was 3 down, Jo Reeve 3 up, Pauline Morrison all square, Mirrie Walters 2 down and Anne Ellis square.
I was feeling quite comfortable. But Mount Osmond turned up the pressure and finally defeated us.
Anne Arnfield lost 4/3
Jo Reeve won 3/2
Pauline Morrison lost 4/3
Mirrie Walters lost 2/1
Anne Ellis square
We have had an excellent season with the help of our wonderful coaching staff and caddies on the day.
Thank you to everyone for their enthusiastic participation.
Round 7
Royal Adelaide 2 lost to Glenelg 3
Monday 19th June at Blackwood Golf Club
Report courtesy of Jill McEwin
It was a wet soggy course that greeted us at Blackwood GC to play Glenelg. The sun did eventually shine and no rain was recorded but the south westerly wind was fierce.
Anne Arnfield was our only win. Anne was 2 down after 2, but then stormed ahead to win 3/2.
Mirrie Walters and Pauline Morrison were 1 or 2 up during the morning but finishing square on 18.
Anne Ellis and Jan Van de Worp were our 2 losses. They played excellent golf but were out gunned.
I believe we have made the semi finals to be played at West Lakes GC on Monday 26th June.
Here is our chance to be the first team home with a medal.

Royal Adelaide 1 lost to Mount Osmond 4
Monday 5th June at Kooyonga Golf Club
Report courtesy of Jill McEwin
Kooyonga Golf club presented us with an amazing manicured course to plunder.
It was wonderful golf but with fast shiny greens we were outmatched.
Anne Arnfield playing at number 5 was our only win.
The 4 other matches went down to the wire.
We have a week off and then back to the hills with fingers crossed for sunshine at Blackwood GC.
Our last match before finals begin.

Match abandoned due to inclement weather
Monday 29th May at North Adelaide Golf Club
Report courtesy of Janice Fletcher
A team of hardy women made their way through fog and rain to Mount Osmond where we were greeted by – you guessed it – fog and rain.
The first match was sent off late, but after a further wait, deteriorating conditions led to the match referee declaring the course unplayable and the match was abandoned.
Thanks to the team and caddies for their commitment.
The team photo was taken in the protected environment of the clubhouse.

Monday 22nd May at North Adelaide Golf Club
Report courtesy of Di Faull
The A3 Pennant team played their 4th round at North Adelaide Golf Club on Monday 22nd May against Kooyonga Golf Club. The team of Anne Ellis, Mirrie Waters, Jo Reeve, Jan Van De Worp and Anne Arnfield played great golf to defeat Kooyonga 4 – 1.
Jo finished her match 5/4 which gave us an early match in our favour. Anne Arnfield finished winning 3/2 to give us our second match. Jan had a really tough opponent but despite being dormie 5 won the next 3 holes in succession taking the match to the 17th before succumbing 3/1.
Mirrie also had a 3/2 win which just left Anne Ellis out on the course and 1 up with 2 to play. She won that match on the 18th 2 up.
An excellent result for the team after a difficult match last week. Thanks also to all the caddies for coming out to help every week.

Round 3
Royal Adelaide 0 lost to The Vines 5
Monday 15th May at The Vines Golf Club of Reynella
Report courtesy of Jill McEwin
It was a tough morning at The Vines playing their women’s top team at home.
Anne Ellis and Jan Van de Worp remained 1 or 2 up most of the morning but were both defeated on the long par 4 18th.
The girls all played a great long game but local knowledge defeated us on their undulating greens.
It was spectacular weather.
We were defeated 5 – 0.
We head to North Adelaide next Monday to play Kooyonga.

Round 2
Royal Adelaide 4.5 defeated Blackwood 0.5
Monday 8th May at Royal Adelaide Golf Club
Report courtesy of Jill McEwin
The A3 pennant stormed home a win today from a determined Blackwood side.
Jan Van de Worp and Jo Reeve brought in 2 early wins. We then wobbled a bit before securing Anne Ellis match on the 17th, Mirrie Walters match on the 18th and Pauline Morrison fought back to square at the 18th.
It was a calm cold morning but RAGC always seems to make us work hard.
Next week we play The Vines at home.
A hard task indeed.
