Members of the Club regularly enjoy the privilege of inviting guests to enjoy the facilities at Royal Adelaide. Recently it has been disappointing to note a drop in standards from some members when introducing guests to the Club. Most frequently, member introduced guests arrive incorrectly attired and often well prior to the member arriving to formally introduce their guest to the Club.
We take this opportunity to remind members of the correct protocol when introducing guests so our staff can provide a world class experience and enhance your member introduced guest’s visit to the Club.
- When making the booking, add the member introduced guest’s first and last names and GOLF Link number.
- Ensure guests are aware of the Club’s Dress Regulations and PED Policy (see notes below).
- Arrive at the Club prior to your guest to ensure you are able to truly “introduce” them to the Club and staff. Whilst staff will inform your member introduced guest of the location of key facilities, this role is shared with the introducing member.
Having GOLF Link numbers pre-entered allows our staff to personalise and enhance your member introduced guest’s experience by greeting them by name, convenient entry into the competition (where applicable) and providing appropriate tee recommendations.
Dress Regulations and PED Policy
Please advise your member introduced guest of the Club’s Dress Regulations and policy regarding the use of portable electronic devices (including mobile phones) to prevent any embarrassment for you and your guest. These regulations apply to all member introduced guests, including those dining in the clubhouse.
We suggest you specifically mention the following of which visitors to the Club are often not aware:
- unless socks are from a Reciprocal Membership Club or a Reciprocal Playing Rights Club, socks must be predominantly one colour when worn with shorts, skirts and skorts
- socks must be visible above the shoe
- no cargo or drawstring pants or shorts are permitted
- non-golf specific hooded garments are not permitted
- men’s shirts must be tucked in at all times, including in the clubhouse
- phone calls must not be made or received at any time on the course or the practice facilities
- the use of mobile phones (including to take photos and accessing the internet) is not permitted in the dining room
Please note that should your member introduced guest not comply with any of the Club’s policies or regulations, staff will in the first instance communicate this with you for you to action. Please do not be offended if you are asked by a staff member to have this discussion with your guest.
By working together, we can ensure your member introduced guest has a great experience at Royal Adelaide.
