Guest Speaker
Introducing the 2025 Women’s Club Dinner guest speaker Jane Ferrari.

Jane Ferrari is not your typical public figure. She’s a realist. She’s jeans, boots and a laid-back straight talker, with an insatiable love for travel, music and people.
Jane’s passion is as infectious as it is heartfelt, and given five minutes with her, you’ll feel like you’ve known her for years.
Jane’s childhood was quite colourful. The daughter of an Italian immigrant surveyor, Jane grew up on Aboriginal missions in the Northern Territory and in Alice Springs, while her father worked on the construction of schools, roads and airport runways.
When the family moved to Adelaide, Jane became one of the first female students to be accepted into Urrbrae Agricultural High School. This was followed by a winemaking degree at Roseworthy Agricultural College, where Jane undertook her mandatory vintage experience with the legendary John Glaetzer at Wolf Blass Wines in 1983.
After graduating, Jane was drawn to the bright lights and buzz of Sydney, working for Tollana Wines and United Distillers, until making the move back to the Barossa Valley in 1989. Once back in the hood, Jane worked with the ‘keeper of the traditional winemaking keys’ at Rockford Wines, Robert O’Callaghan. After three years apprenticed to Robert, Jane moved to the oldest family owned wine growing operation in Australia – Yalumba – for 25 years.
Jane’s roles at Yalumba was diverse and exciting. Jane spent most of her time at Yalumba in the role of ‘storyteller’, which saw her on the road regularly; talking, tasting and taking the Yalumba story to the world. She took hold of everything thrown her way – from private tastings for dignitaries and fullscale banquets, to industry events and corporate conferences.
There is always a good story to be heard when Jane is around, which is one of the many reasons why she was awarded the title of ‘Australian Wine Communicator of the Year’ in 2012. When Jane is asked what she does for a living, she simply replies, “storyteller… and it’s a top job.”
