Well done to all our winners in the Foursomes Championship Finals.
A Grade Foursomes Final
The A Grade Foursomes Championship final was a see sawing battle with Annabel Blanch and Pauline Morrison playing steady as she goes golf jumping out of the blocks to be 2up after 5 holes and the defending champions were under pressure. But like defending champion’s do they rose to the occasion winning the 6th and 8th holes to have the match back to square. Annabel and Pauline weren’t going to go away however winning the 9th hole to retake the lead and it was game on. Sophie and Sarah had to dig in taking the 12th and 13th holes and the lead for the first time in the match. It was back and forth from then on and the match went to the 18th all square where a par was good enough for Sophie and Sarah to defend their title and take out the 2023 Women’s A Grade Foursomes Championships.
Sophie Hilditch and Sarah Chia defeated Annabel Blanch & Pauline Morrison – 1 up
B Grade Foursomes Final:
The B Grade Foursomes final was a topsy turvy affair with the number one qualifiers Di Tallis and Ali White starting the match brilliantly winning the first four holes to be 4up and the result was looking almost a fait accompli. However Denise Le Messurier and Wendy Hogarth were up for the fight returning fire and winning the next five holes to be 1up. Di and Ali struck back to be 2 up going over the railway line before Denise and Wendy powered up again winning the next four holes to take out the Championship with a 2/1 win on the 17th hole.
to take out the B Grade Foursomes Championship final 2/1.
Denise Le Messurier & Wendy Hogarth defeated Di Tallis & Ali White – 2/1
C Grade Foursomes Final
The C Grade final was tight all day with never more than a hole in the match with both teams taking a turn at being in front. 18 holes wasn’t enough to separate the teams before Jane Lane and Jayne McLaren went on to win on the 19th hole over Liz Fahlbusch-Moore and Amelia Porter.
Jane Lane & Jayne McLaren defeated Liz Fahlbusch-Moore & Amelia Porter – 19th
