Course Tour
Affectionately known to members as “Seaton”, Royal Adelaide is consistently ranked the best course in South Australia and a top-10 Australian course. Located in Adelaide’s western suburbs, Seaton is less than 20 minutes’ drive from the city and less than two kilometres from the coast.
Renowned architects Dan Soutar, Dr Alister Mackenzie and more recently Brian Slawnik/Tom Doak (Renaissance Golf) have each administered alterations to the layout, however it still retains much of its original open links land composition. Multiple playing lines present on most holes, providing opportunities and enjoyment for players of all levels, whilst also providing a strong championship test from the back tees.
Whilst playing surfaces are perfectly manicured all year round, seasonal variability shows the true character of Royal Adelaide. Firm, fast and open during Summer, to challenging native rough grasses and non-prevailing winds in Spring, the golf course takes on many personalities over the course of the year, further increasing the enjoyment and challenge of the layout.
Despite climatic variances, course staff ensure playing surfaces are perfectly manicured all year round so members and guests can enjoy the true character of Royal Adelaide.
