Women’s Opening Day 2025 – Tuesday 25th February

The course was packed to the rafters as 147 golfers took to the course for Women’s Opening Day to test not only their golfing skills but also their map reading skills on the Cross Country Course layout.

The masters of the MacKenzie course were Lizzie Hughes, Lou Jacka, Sarah Ayres and Suzy Kitto prevailing by the narrowest of narrow margins of one eighth of a shot with the net score of 22.125 over Sophie Gosse, Lucy Cleary, Liz Fahlbusch-Moore and Prim Langley.

The triumphant Thomson course winners were Susie Herzberg, Sharon Honner, Juliet Hugo and Ali Coventry with a net 22 and once again one eighth of a shot was the margin from Runners Up Jo Reeve, Rosie Newland, Sara Bessell and Anne Sykes.

Heather Jenkins provided the highlight of the day on the Bump and Run hole (Between 12th tees to 7th Green) with a Hole in One. Congratulations Heather!

Congratulations also to the winners of the events that weren’t able to attend the annual trophy presentations in November who were presented their trophies at Opening Day.
