This year’s Women’s Charity Day will be held on Tuesday 17 September in support of Operation Flinders. Established in 1991 by former army officer and teacher, Pamela Murray-White, Operation Flinders exists to transform young people’s lives through evidence-based remote, outback intervention programs. These programs create opportunities for young people facing challenges through adventure therapy programs that provide demanding experiences, personal development and pathways to wellbeing and life success. Visit the Operation Flinders website for more information.

On Charity Day, players compete for the Sue Butterworth Trophy. Sue Butterworth joined RAGC in 1967. She served on committee in 1978/79, handicap manager in 1985/86 and a Vice President in 2004/05. After her death in 2010 her family donated a trophy to be presented at the Annual Meeting to the winner of a “Charity Day” established in her honour. The name of the runner up is also recorded on the trophy. Because Sue generously donated to the charity, the Committee of the day decided to establish the Charity Day in her honour.

The competition fee of $25 and all raffle profits will be donated in full to Operation Flinders. Tickets for the raffle (1 for $5 or 3 for $10) will be available for the raffle stand in the breezeway from 7:30am on the day. No cash is required as all donations will be charged to member accounts. If you cannot attend, raffle tickets may be purchased by calling the office on 8356 5511.

Our wonderful team of volunteers have secured a great selection of prizes for the raffle including:
Star of Greece (Port Willunga) meal voucher
Ambrosini’s Restaurant (Norwood) meal voucher
Dillons Bookshop voucher
Papershop on Kensington pamper hamper
Lolli golf apparel and voucher

… and more
