Women’s Veterans Trophies – Congratulations Jane Bartlett, Jill McEwin and Trish Davies

Congratulations to the winners of 2024 Veteran’s Trophies. Jane Bartlett won the Veteran’s Cup (best aggregate nett score over two rounds for players aged 60-69) with a total nett score of 149 by four shots from Ali White. Jill McEwin completed the double taking out both the Nitschke Salver (best aggregate gross score for players 60 and over) with consistent rounds of 91 for a total of 182 with nine shots up her sleeve from Sue Minson. Jill also won the Super Veteran’s Bowl (best aggregate nett score over two rounds for players aged 70+) with a total score of 150 by the narrowest margin of one shot from Pam Hamilton on 151. In the Lady Wills Trophy (best 18 hole nett score in either round of Veteran’s Trophies) was won by Trish Davies with her fantastic 67 nett from qualifying.

Motorised Transport:
Motorised transport
a. Model Local Rule G-6 is in effect. During a round, a player or caddie (if permitted) must not ride on any form of motorised transportation except as authorised or later
approved by the Match Committee. The Match Committee will only consider requests for use of motorised transportation where:
i. the player making the request has a current disability; and
ii. the player presents a medical certificate stating that there is a medical need for transportation that results from that disability.
Any requests by a player to use any form of transportation must be made before the relevant round commences. Such request may be by way of a standing request
to the General Manager or the Director of Golf.
b. The use of motorised transportation may be prohibited by RAGC due to extreme weather conditions. It is the player’s responsibility to contact the professional shop
to determine if any restrictions apply.
 
Perpetual Trophy:
Each Veteran’s event has a perpetual trophy presented at the Women’s Trophy Presentation Event at end of season.

Replica of the Challenge Cup, September 1923 – won by Miss L M Gordon.
Presented in 1974 by Lady Wills, who suggested the trophy for veterans over 70.   The committee of the time suggested the age of 65, and this was passed.
Lady Wills was formerly Mrs W W Gilfillan, nee Mavis Marsh (Dec. 1995 )
