BRONZE SHIELD REPORT HELD AT CRYSTAL BROOK GOLF CLUB
Report provided by Jane Bartlett
This years Bronze Shield Country Week competition was a great three days in Crystal Brook. In the year that they are celebrating their centenary the local volunteers have the course in a magnificent condition, and we were blessed with stunning weather.
It was disappointing that we only had 3 entries from Royal Adelaide but Robin Tregenza, Deb James and Jane Bartlett had a lovely time in the ‘Brook’, thoroughly enjoying the country hospitality.
The organisers ensured everyone had fun and even had us all up dancing at the presentation dinner.
We didn’t leave empty handed with Robin winning the longest drive as well as nearest the pin on Wednesday.
Jane won round 2 (41 points) on Wednesday and partnered with a local player to win the Foursomes on Thursday (42points).
It has been mooted that future country weeks will not be hosted at clubs with scrapes which will sadly eliminate most of the Northern clubs. We found the scrapes absolutely fine and they certainly did not affect the enjoyment of the competition.
Thank you to the Crystal Brook Golf Club on a well run and very enjoyable 3 days.
