The 2022 Royal Adelaide Vardon was held on Sunday 14th August with the best players in SA coming together to contest the RAGC Cup and the L.M. Gordon Bowl.
In the L.M. Gordon Bowl, Royal Adelaide’s Caitlin Peirce led the way with a 1-over par round of 74 to beat defending champion and fellow RAGC member Sophie Hilditch by one shot. A further shot back was Glenelg’s Zoe Manton, followed by Raegan Denton of RAGC. In the nett, Zoe Manton (72) won by one shot from Maiya Jakupec (Glenelg – 73).
The RAGC Cup was hotly contested with one shot separating 1st and 6th. Royal Adelaide member, and arguably the man of 2022, Harry Coote shot an even par round of 72 to win the Cup outright and avoid the congestion. It was a battle of the back nines for second place with five players posting rounds of 73. Winning the countback and finishing second was 2019 winner Ross Steedman of The Grange followed by Nicholas Siegmund (The Grange), Charlie Nobbs (The Vines), Billy Cawthorne (Royal Adelaide) and Frederick Cassell (Kooyonga). In the nett, Harry Coote (71) won on a countback from Charlie Nobbs.
Congratulations to Caitlin, Harry and all other winners!
