A winning start 2026 pennant season with victory for our Simpson Cup, Bonnar Cup, Cleek 1 and Junior Division 2 teams.
Several of our teams launched their 2026 Pennant season over the weekend, with Simpson Cup, Bonnar Cup and Junior Division 2 all getting underway.
After their opening round was called off due to the heat, Cleek 1 tees it up for the first time today at Mount Osmond.
Enjoy a selection of shots from Royal Adelaide member Wallace Long, capturing our Simpson Cup team in action over the weekend.
Friday Flyover | Hole 5 at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club
From the championship tee, this hole now asks a serious question of your game.
The two right-side bunkers sit perfectly in range at 250m and 286m — tempting, waiting. Miss your line left and you’ll find deep grass and new mounding tightening the corridor between here and the 6th. There’s no easy bail-out.
With a helping breeze, the bold might take on the neck and try to leave a wedge in hand. Play it safe short of the bunkers and you’re facing a much longer approach… to a green guarded by a deep bunker on the front right.

Morning light over the 4th at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club.
The low sun picks up the natural contours of the green and the shaping around the bunkers, showing the subtle movement that makes this hole such an interesting test. With the course team already out preparing the surface, it’s a quiet reminder of the work that goes in before the first group heads out.

Friday Flyover | Hole 4 at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club
The famous crater in front of the tees is little more than a warm-up act for Championship players. From the back markers, it’s a blind strike to an undulating fairway framed by towering pines.
At 240 metres, a deep bunker lurks on the left. Feeling bold? There’s a pot bunker waiting another 30 metres on. The right side tightens with heavy grass, and by 280 metres the fairway narrows sharply — position is everything.
The green appears flat at first glance, guarded by a bunker left. Miss right, though, and subtle mounds can leave you with a deceptively tricky chip.
A hole that rewards commitment — and punishes hesitation.
Golden hour over the 15th at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club 🌅⛳️
Although it’s a short par 5, don’t be fooled — the drive must be well placed to set up the next shot, with the wetlands flanking the right-hand side of the fairway ready to punish anything that drifts. From there, it’s all about touch and decision-making, with a green lightly trapped by shallow bunkers that demand precision.
